  • Combine the water, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, turn the heat down to a simmer.
  • Simmer the mixture for two minutes or until the brown sugar dissolves and becomes syrupy.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • The syrup can be used right away for hot coffee or cooled down a bit for iced coffee.
