Ingredients

  • 8 ounces 1 1/2 cup of various colored candy melts or white chocolate chips
  • 16 pretzel rods
  • Assorted Halloween sprinkles and candy for decorating candy corn, Halloween candy, candy eyeballs.

Instructions

  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips or colored candy melts
  • Microwave Method: In a heat proof, microwave safe dish (I use a pyrex measuring cup) microwave the melts for 1 minute and give a stir. Continue to melt in 15 seconds bursts , stirring until completely melted and smooth. Tip: If using white chocolate chips, melt for about 45 seconds at first and keep heating in 15 second bursts until melted and stirred smooth.
  • Double Boiler Method: Candy melts and white chocolate chips can be placed in a heatproof bowl set over barely simmering water. Stir until melted.
  • Once the chocolate is melted, Spoon the coating over the pretzel rods, covering about 3/4 of the pretzel.
  • Lightly shake off excess chocolate or candy coating back into the dish. The coating on the pretzel rod should be even and smooth.
  • Set the coated pretzel on the parchment paper lined sheet pan and continue coating the pretzel rods until you run out of chocolate.
  • While the chocolate or candy coating is still wet, add sprinkles and decorations.
  • Once decorated, let the candy coating harden for about 15-20 minutes at room temperature, or pop the pretzels in the fridge to set in half the time.
  • Serve and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 10 days.

Notes

      • This is the amount needed to make sixteen Halloween Dipped Pretzels. This formula can easily be doubled or adjusted to fit your needs!
      • 4 ounces of candy melts will cover 8 pretzels. This means you can choose an assortment of different colors to dip your pretzel rods. A 12 ounce bag of pretzel rods will give you about 30 (non broken) pretzel sticks.
      • If the chocolate starts to become too set to dip the pretzels, microwave for another 15 seconds until melted.
