Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of brewed espresso or very strong coffee
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup of milk whole milk or non-dairy milk
  • Sea salt and sprinkle of cinnamon optional

Instructions

  • Add the espresso and maple syrup to a mug. Stir to combine.
  • Next, froth the milk. If using a countertop frother, froth ½ cup of milk per the instructions on your machine. If you’re using a handheld frother or a whisk, heat the milk in the microwave for one minute or on the stovetop over medium heat until steaming (140-145 degrees F), but not boiling. Whisk vigorously or use the handheld frother to whip the milk until thick, doubled in size, and foamy (about 45-60 seconds).
  • Pour the frothed milk over the hot coffee and sprinkle with flaky sea salt or cinnamon if desired.

Notes

  • If you like your latte on the sweet side, bump up the syrup to 2 tablespoons.
  • For an Iced Maple Latte, pour brewed espresso over ice or use cold brew. Froth cold milk with a handheld frother or countertop electric frother on the "cold" setting. Pour over coffee and enjoy!
  • If using non-dairy milk, select "barista blends" or extra creamy versions of oat, coconut, or nut milks.
