Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon butter extract

Instructions

  • Combine the sugar and the water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sugar is dissolved, the mixture is clear, and the consistency is syrupy. Remove from heat.
  • Off heat, whisk in the butter and vanilla extracts.
  • Cool for iced coffees or use immediately.

Notes

  • Butter extract is not dairy free, but you can swap in 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract if needed
  • Add the extracts off heat for the best flavor.
  • This syrup is thin, but if you want it thicker, boil the water and sugar for 5 extra minutes.
