The Starbucks drink menu is out and I am a Sugar Cookie Latte girlie. I usually get it iced, but sometimes a Maine winter can force the hardiest of us to opt for hot.

But just like you, the holidays are busy and expensive for me, so if I can save time and money and enjoy a festive treat, I’m all in! This recipe is just that. It’s ready in 5 minutes and costs just a fraction of what I’d pay at the coffee shop.

Skip the drive-thru and make your own Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte at home! It’s just as delicious as the Starbucks version, but way cheaper—and you get to control the ingredients and caffeine.

This easy sugar-cookie flavor coffee recipe only calls for a couple of simple ingredients.

Four bowls on a white surface contain espresso, syrup, milk, and colorful sprinkles labeled as optional.
  • Brewed espresso or strong black coffee – high octane or decaf both work.
  • Sugar cookie simple syrup – I make my own copycat Starbucks sugar cookie simple syrup with water, sugar, butter extract, and vanilla extract, but you can use your favorite store-bought brand too!
  • Almond milk – Use “seriously creamy”, barista blend, or extra creamy almond milk for best results.

Add 1/2 cup of almond milk to a countertop frother or a measuring cup. If using a handheld milk frother, whisk for 45-60 seconds until thick and foamy.  If using a countertop or Nespresso machine milk frother, follow the manufacturer’s instructions, on the cold setting.

Tips & Tricks

  • Extra creamy, “seriously creamy”, and barista blend non-dairy milks froth the best for latte foam.
  • This recipe works for both hot and iced coffee.

A jar of iced coffee topped with colorful sprinkles is placed on a table beside some sugar cookies. A small potted plant and string lights are in the background.
  • Use any dairy milk or plant-based milk you’d like: oat milk, cashew,  soy milk, or coconut milk all work.
  • If you don’t have an espresso machine or a Nespresso coffee maker, ½ cup of strong coffee or store bought cold brew can be used.
  • Decaf coffee works perfectly in this recipe (I use decaf for afternoon lattes).
  • Make a cold foam to top your sugar cookie latte for an extra decadent treat. Here’s the recipe for sweet cream cold foam, just swap the vanilla syrup for sugar cookie syrup.
  • You can add an extra tablespoon of sugar cookie syrup to the milk as you froth it for extra flavor!
