  • Salted Butter – softened at room temperature.
  • Honey – Clover, wildflower, flavored…any kind of honey will do!

Hint: The cinnamon and vanilla make this butter taste just like the whipped Cinnamon Honey Butter at Texas Roadhouse.

Add the honey, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon to the whipped butter.

A glass bowl on a marble surface contains butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and powdered sugar. Measuring spoons and some spilled sugar are visible beside the bowl.

Beat the mixture on low until combined, then increase the speed to medium-high and whip for 2 minutes, scraping down the sides halfway through to incorporate everything fully.

Store the prepared honey butter in an airtight container in the fridge. Let it soften at room temperature before using.

Tips & Tricks

  • Bring the butter to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • Don’t skip the powdered sugar. It makes everything smooth and it doesn’t impact the honey flavor.
  • Scrape the sides of the bowl while whipping, this will ensure the everything is mixed well.

Honey Butter Variations

  • Omit the cinnamon and vanilla for a less sweet butter.
  • Try adding pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon.
  • Use hot honey, cayenne, or crushed red pepper flakes for hot honey butter – great for cornbread!
  • Add chopped fresh or dried herbs and spices like thyme or cardamom for herbed honey butter variations.
  • Add zest from a lemon or an orange for a little zing.

  • Use unsalted butter instead of salted to control the sodium. Add ¼ teaspoon to ½ teaspoon of sea salt to taste.
  • Use a plant-based butter and agave or maple syrup for a plant-based version.
